Los Angeles Super Seminar

DATE: Saturday. January 17, 2015

COST: FREE

TIME: 9:30am - 11:30am

FOOTBALL TICKETS: Each Super Seminar attendee will be provided one FREE ticket to attend the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at 1:00pm at StubHub Center.  Learn more about the game at http://collegiate.nflpa.com/.

NFLPA HIGH SCHOOL GRANT: The NFLPA will award one high school athletic department a $1,000 grant. The winning high school will be selected by random drawing at the conclusion of the Super Seminar.  Each  student-athlete in attendance may enter his or her school in the drawing, so the more athletes a school has in attendance, the better the chances of winning!

SEMINAR: A college eligibility and recruiting Super Seminar for middle school and high school athletes and their parents. The Los Angeles Super Seminar is hosted by Carson High School and presented in partnership with the National Football League Players Association and 501(c)3 nonprofit Recruiting Education Foundation. The event is free of charge, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.

The two-hour Super Seminar presentation will cover a full range of recruiting education topics, including:

  • Three Rules of Being a Parent
  • Scholarship Myths and Facts 
  • NAIA and JUCO education
  • Scholarships, do they differ?
  • The Name Game
  • Negotiate/Cooperative Education
  • Dangers of Social Networking/Cell Phones
  • Saving for College
  • National Letter of Intent
  • NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Centers
  • Recruiting Services
  • NCAA Core Course Requirements

Parking: The closest parking lots are accessed by entering campus off of Main St. and parking by the AEE complex or in front of and across from Gym area. Additional lots are available off of 223rd street.
